Labor Day 1882

Labor Day Weekend 2010

Labor Day Weekend 2010

Labor Day was first celebrated in 1882 and two years later became a National Holiday. It unofficially marks the end of Summer and the beginning of football season.

It is also a great time to relax and spend time with Family and friends. Cheryl’s cousin, Mike, me and Cooper enjoyed floating in the pool yesterday, listening to Jimmy Buffett.

What music will you use today to celebrate?

When the sun comes up, Mike and I are going for another run.

Always play music. Always. Today will include Bang on the Drum by Todd Rundgren, Redemption Song by Bob Marley and Road Trippin’ by Red Hot Chili Peppers.

    Great choices Lorie.
Buffett, Marley, beach music – when you’re surrounded by palm trees and sunshine, you succumb to doing what comes naturally. :)

    Jeff,

Labor Day, for our family, is the marking of our son’s birthday. Normally his birthday falls sometime around the Labor Day weekend. So Zachary, who loves his music and is my retro child, played one of his “new” birthday gifts – Elvis Presley with songs from the movie, “Blue Hawaii.” LOL That’s what we heard!
