Sunrise at Disneyland Paris

This morning. Paris. Sunrise. Before heading to airport.

Seems like 17 days ago was only a couple days.

Tomorrow makes day 18 since driving Cheryl to the airport.

Scheduled Orlando arrival is nearly 5:00 PM tomorrow.

More than another full day from writing this blog post until seeing her.

Cheryl orchestrated this trip for her, her cousin Debbie, and Debbie’s co-in-law, Nancy.

Cheryl didn’t birth the idea, but she did organize (one of her superpowers) many logistical details. She created a multi-page document that would make any experienced travel agent envious.

Come Monday, it’ll be alright

 Nature preserve wildlife warning sign
First photo yesterday.

Happy present moment.

Been enjoying the warmer “winter” weather. Pool water is now above 80 degrees.

Didn’t need a t-shirt for yesterday’s walk but wore it anyway. As if to project “i’m an Eagles fan” because it’s green.

Love everything

walt whitman quote
Live with love, not insults. Use your judgement to adapt this to your day-to-day life.

Love everything.

How cool is that?

Waking up in your own bed, mind

Car radio screen
Rental car dashboard screen, upper right corner, 5:29am.

Tomorrow morning we wake up in our own bed for the first time in three weeks.

If you’ve not done this in a while, three consecutive weeks is a long time to wake up and use a hotel bathroom.

It’s a long time to be waking up without the normal, daily, home-court advantages you enjoy.

You don’t miss your home advantages nearly as much as when you’ve only been away on a three-day weekend trip or a one-week cruise.

There’s a tipping point in travel time that gifts you with life insights you’d never contemplate otherwise.

Counting so many blessings as we return to ‘normal home-court’ living.

The wind chill of life

25-second video from Piegan Mountain 9,200′. Sept 2020. First solo summit.

The wind chill of life does two things:

  1. Provides perfect opportunity for whiners to whine
  2. Provides perfect opportunity for optimists to hope

Most of the time a mountain is windy and cold. You generally won’t know until you get there. Although the odds are low for still, warm summits, you summit anyway. You love everything about it, especially the obstacles opportunities.
